Are you taking care of yourself?

Whenever I take my kid to the doctor they give us a folder of various flyers and handouts pertinent to their vaccines and age.

At Clark's 2 or 3 week appt there was one flyer that totally stood out to me.

It was a checklist of questions for new moms to encourage the mom of a newborn to remember to take care of herself. Of course, i have misplaced it. But I still remember some of them, and I'll just make up the rest.

So, we'll do a Friday TOP TEN!!!!

The top ten ways to check if you are taking care of yourself......

1. Did you shower today?

2. Did you pray or read the bible?

3. Did you wear clean clothes?

4. Did you take 5-10 minutes to pamper yourself in some way?

5. Did you put on any makeup?

6. Did you go to the bathroom by yourself?

7. Did you drink some coffee?

8. Did you put on shoes?

9. Did you sweat due to some physical exercise activity?

10. Did you eat a fruit or vegetable?

Just checking in with you. Because I care. And I want you to care about me in this way.

My dearest friend shared the most kind words with me the other day....
"you may not wear those pants ever again". It's so sweet that she cares how my butt looks in pants :)

If you are a dude, this TOP TEN probably doesn't apply to you. And if it does, well... you are earning your mommy badge!

Loving and (hopefully) encouraging you,
Stacey

February 12 on the 12th

So you should know exactly what I'm doing here.

No need to link back to WAY back when I did this last month....

since that was the last time I even posted!!

Bummer.

Regardless, this is my second installment of

TWELVE ON THE TWELFTH!!!

Super exciting.

BTW, you can click on the picture should you desire to read the super awesome journaling.

Enjoy!

Promise to be back before March 12th!

12 on the 12th

I am more of a project person.

I am not very good at monotony (monogamy-yes), or doing anything "religiously". Take doing the laundry, for instance. It is the SAME clothes! Over and over again! The dishes - same thing. Making the bed: BO-RING!

I long for the excitement of something new.

I love starting something, and FINISHING it.

And never doing it again.

Remember how I used to do a Monday Top Ten? That was cute while it lasted, right?

Here I am in a new year, a new resolve, and a new project. I am hoping it doesn't become monotonous. (sp?)

Here it is:

Twelve on the twelfth (sp?).

Take 12 photos on the 12th of each month. Make it into a scrapbook page.

Today is January 12th: DONE!

I hope this is an exciting project that I will want to/remember to/will do each month in 2011.

We'll do a poll: how many months do you think I'll keep this up?

One?

Twelve?

Three?

Only time will tell....

Lovingly OCD/ADHD,
Stacey

I resolve to be better.

This ain't no top ten.

i really don't think I could manage to remember to improve in ten ways in this upcoming year. But I do resolve to....

1. Be Positive.

(isn't this POSITIVELY adorable?)

2. Show Compassion.

(it's kinda easy with this one)

3. Give Grace.
(cause I'm kinda a mess myself)

4. Listen.

(I won't even brag about this...)

So there you go. I essentially resolve to treat others the way I want to be treated. I will be positive, show compassion, give grace freely, and listen...

Do you have anything you want to share? I'm listening...

Getting better by the minute,
Stacey E. C. Wilson

Why, hello there!

Sorry for the absence.

I have been busy.

TOP TEN THINGS I'VE BEEN DOING IN DECEMBER!!!!

With that kind of title, this has definite potential to be super interesting.

Without further ado...

1. STARING.
Staring at my adorable baby. And how his adorable big sister treats him kindly. Staring a lot.

2. SLEEPING.
Just joshin' ya. I'm not actually doing much of this. If I were sleeping, I would be dreaming of sleeping.

3. SHOPPING.
Shopping for the remainder of the christmas gifts. I thought I was so together before Clark was born, but was only about 50% together. Typical.

4. WRAPPING.
One of my favorite things to do. Finally used up my GIANT roll of gold Costco wrapping paper (3 years worth, thank you). Then I bought another one :)

5. EATING.
Cookies, ham, green bean casserole, cookies, ice cream, tamales, cookies, and candy.

6. PRAISING.
I am so blessed and so thankful. I am amazed that God humbled himself to arrive as a little baby in a barn. Totally amazed.

7. SINGING.
Christmas music. I LOVE IT! My favorite song of all time is Oh Night Divine! I am pretty sure that is not the title, but it is the most poignant part for me.

8. DRINKING.
Coffee, water, and oh, the sweet taste of alcohol. Oh, don't judge. It is all in moderation. I promise :)

9. TALKING.
Me? talk? A lot. With family, with friends, with both. I love myself some talking, and this time of year is such a blessing to be able to talk and celebrate!

10. SMILING.
Just read 1-9. What could be better?

Top ten-ing,
Stacey

CLARK THOMAS WILSON

Although I was CONVINCED that this kid was coming early, he did not. He arrived at exactly
7:59 am
on
Monday,
November 15th

He weighed a whopping
8 pounds
7 ounces

And was
20 inches
in length

And was
instantly,
irrevocably,
unconditionally
LOVED.

Family of Four.
(So this was the best picture of me, AND the best picture of Blaine.
He flinches at flashes.)

Dad & Son.

Mom & Son.

Going home!

Brother & Sister.

Totally in love,
Stacey

P.S. Do you want to see my stomach before & after (surgery site/staples) pictures? Blaine thinks that is gross. Which is true. But, I ALSO think it's kinda cool...

So, cool or gross??

This is seriously the best picture I got of my kid on Halloween.

Note to self: don't 'practice' with lighting, flash, dark scenarios on manual during holidays.
